Norwegian Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority and International Science and Technology Center cooperation in Central Asia
The Norwegian Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (DSA) - the national authority and expert body in matters concerning nuclear safety, radiation use, natural radiation and radioactive contamination in the environment – published its bulletin No. 6 about the cooperation with regulatory bodies from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan through the ISTC to support these regulatory bodies in developing regulations related to remediation of Uranium legacy sites in Central Asia.
The International Science and Technology Center (ISTC) is an intergovernmental organization connecting scientists from Kazakhstan, Armenia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Georgia with their peers and research organizations in the EU, Japan, Republic of Korea, Norway and the United States.
ISTC facilitates international science projects and assists the global scientific and business community to source and engage with CIS and Georgian institutes that develop or possess an excellence of scientific know-how.
